I think the worst part of being parentless is hearing the words “it gets easier” on a continuous loop from everyone you encounter, and at a certain point after so many tell you it will get easier, you begin to wonder if maybe they are telling the truth; if maybe some forecast will swirl over your heart, and suddenly it isn’t heartbreak and sadness anymore. That instead, you become filled with love and satisfaction from knowing you’ve experienced it all at such a fragile age and have still found peace within life.
